Following his undergraduate studies, Jeff attended Syracuse University College of Law, where he again graduated with honors, and was selected as a Criminal Justice Teaching Fellow.
After Law School, Jeff began his own practice where he worked mainly in the area of criminal defense and small business litigation. He was subsequently hired by the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. Jeff began his career in the City and Municipal Courts Bureau, where he handled a variety of matters in the City of Syracuse and surrounding local courts. Jeff was later promoted to the Violent Felonies Bureau, where he handled hundreds of burglary, robbery, and violent assault cases. After successfully prosecuting some of the most high profile cases in that unit, Jeff was again promoted, this time to the Special Victim’s Bureau, where he served as the deputy bureau chief for a number of years. While there, in addition to assisting in the overall management of the bureau, Jeff prosecuted some of the most violent and prolific sex offenders in New York State. In 2015, he became the only prosecutor in Onondaga County to successfully try a child pornography case. Before leaving the District Attorney’s Office, Jeff was appointed the deputy bureau chief of the Narcotics Division, where he prosecuted hundreds of felony drug and driving while intoxicated cases.
Currently, Jeff is a managing member of Schiano Law, PLLC, where he concentrates on criminal, civil, and business litigation.
